Spider – Ability to reset individual templates

Available in Spider Version 2014.07.24 or above.

PCSchool has added the ability to reset individual or specific templates. Previously when adding new controls to user templates you were only able to reset the main default user template for Staff, Students or Caregivers.

Now via our updated ‘Administration’ control in the Spider system administrators can select any template type (Dean, Nurse, Senior teacher, Junior teacher etc).Admin Update

Spider – Hide tabs in Student Information View

Available in Spider version 2014.03.04 or above.

PCSchool now allows schools to hide the various tabs within the Student Information View in Spider. This means, for example, that you can hide the Medical Conditions tab or Special Needs tab from students when they enter the Student Information View in Spider.

Spider – Student Info ability to hide / show absence and late information to different users

Available in Spider version 2013.10 and above (Post Conference release available in October)

PCSchool has added the ability to hide or show the students Absence and Lates tabs in the Student Information view for various users: teachers, caregivers or students. This can be done using special keys in the Spider Configuration File.Hide or Show Student Absence and Lates tabs

The keys  in spider config are:

<add key=”ENABLE_LATETAB_IN_STUDENTINFO” value=”TCS” />

TCS says the tab should be shown for Teachers (T), Caregivers (C ) and Students (S)

If its just for teachers, put only T in this value.

Spider – Student Info has added security for split families

Available in Spider version 2013.10 and above (Post Conference release available end October).

PCSchool has now added the ability to hide or show the student address and contact information from various users. This is done through two new security objects that can be added / removed from the User Rights Equivalence for different users.

Address and Contact information hi-lighted in yellow can be hidden or made visible.

  • If they have ACCESS PERMISSION to 289 then will show the items marked in yellow in above image.
  • If they have ACCESS PERMISSION to 292, then it will always hide the yellow marked info.

 

Spider – Caregivers ability to see Student Address details

Available in Spider Version 2013.08.12.xxx or above.

PCSchool has now enhanced the ability for schools to hide or display student address details from various caregivers when viewed in the Student Information control.

There are two security objects that can be used to set these rights for different caregivers. they are:Security Objects

If you have “Spider Show Address” object for any users “User Rights”, then they can see the address. But if the “Deny Address Access” exists, then that overrides all other security related to this.

Split family in spider:

  •    By default don’t show the address
  •    If you have object 289, then it will show address

Normal family in spider:

  •    By default show the address
  •    If they have object 292, then don’t show address

You need to update the spider if you want this to work and download an import a new SSObjects.tmp file. The SSObjects.tmp file can be found in the latest Programs Followup, once downloaded the .tmp file should be added to the PCSchool\Data folder on the server and then imported in: Import SSObjects File

Spider – Email Template Editor now available through Administration Control

Available in Spider Version 2013.06.04.xxx and above.

PCSchool have now made it possible for Spider Administrators to view / modify the email templates from the new Administration control (previously ‘Quick Links Maintenance’).

Email templates used within the Spider – Interview bookings, profile update, subject selections etc – were previously only accessible if logged onto the Spider Server, now these can be modified by logging into the Spider Web App and using the link in the Administration control:Edit Email Templates

Spider – Ability to Enable Security for Spider Controls

Available in Spider Version 2013.04.18.xxx and above.

PCSchool now makes it possible to enable tighter security in the Spider.  This is done through the Quick Links Maintenance Control – Customise Controls Text view:Customise Controls Text View

From here you can select the security objects the user must have rights to (in Back Office Security Settings) to be able to use this control in the Spider.Enable Security
